Hotel Southern Star Mysore

This is a luxury property and very well maintained. The staff is very responsive to needs and helpful in sorting logistics. Breakfast is delicious.

We had dinner here one night and it was just OK. Pricey for the quality.

There were a group of drunk old men, causing some havoc. Turned out to be a funny bunch after-all. However I'd expect restaurant managers to step up early and intervene.

After 35 years I entered the hotel it has changed a lot , I was an employee here but a guest now. Breakfast good and staff also.

The restaurant was disorganized. Tables were not well equipped- had one piece or the other missing. Service was bad. Some food items were cold instead of hot. Food taste was hit or miss. The showerhead was rusted. Drawers and doors didn’t close properly. Not well maintained in general. Desk staff were slow and ill informed. Do not recommend.

Breakfast was excellent. Location is good. Hospitable staff.

Room condition was a bit damp; lacking freshness. Bed was not as fresh as I would expect. Room facilities were ordinary. I would expect a better room condition.

Dinner was very good, breakfast could be better. They can add some more healthy options.

We had booked rooms with twin beds, but they gave us rooms with queen beds. The twin rooms were on a lower level and they were not good at all. There was a bad smell in the corridor which wafted into the rooms also.

The room and the staffs were very good. Loved the ambiance. The indo Chinese food was so delicious.

An odd air fragrance, was not comfortable. Hotel needs to select a better fragrance. No valet service, and not enough parking space. Breakfast was ok. No non-veg option for breakfast. Only egg and sausage was provided. Common toilets should be cleaned regularly. For the price we paid for three days (30k), it was not worth it. The air conditioning was ok. Coffee and tea was terrible.

We had a 1-night stay at Southern Star for a quick visit to Mysore. Hotel is located close to the palace and is a very well managed facility. Hotel staff were very helpful and we were very well taken care of during check-in by Easter. We used the travel desk facility within the hotel to book a car to do sight-seeing. Laxmi at the travel desk was very helpful in understanding our requirements and arranging the car. Well managed/maintained restaurant in the hotel served tasty lunch/dinner buffet with full menu to customize our food requirements. Captain Abhishek and team at the restaurant made our dining a pleasant experience after a busy sight-seeing day. Jeevan helped us checkout and offered to get us bagged breakfast as we were checking out early to catch the train back to Bangalore. He arranged for the Auto's to take us back to the station and ensured a quick and seamless checkout. Overall, our experience was pretty good and we will come back to this hotel every time we will visit Mysore.

The breakfast spread was excellent and absolute value for money. The food served during dinner also was excellent. The staff was courteous polite and very well trained.

Cutlery was not provided when asked for it. The room service mentioned they provide cutlery only when we order food.Wifi was not that great

I had requested for early check in and received the approval for the same. But when I reached the hotel I had to wait more than 1 hour to get the room.

Service is really bad. Being a 5 star hotel comes with hospitality not the building or amenities. Not felt welcoming at all. No one asked about needs. It's like any other hotel. Pay, stay and scoot. What's the big deal being a 5 star then!! Afterall you pay triple the money!

Hotel is located in the heart of city, only a walkable distance to Mysore palace. Room was spacious and Breakfast was really good
